Noble Oak Counseling

Welcome to Noble Oak Counseling. I’m Erin Bergren, and I’m here to help you navigate life’s challenges and tap into your resilience, healing, and potential for growth. My path into counseling has been anything but conventional, shaped by a range of experiences that have deepened my understanding of people and their unique stories. Before becoming a therapist, I clerked in stores, served in restaurants and bars and worked in the oilfield as a rig-up truck driver. I spent years on the road as an over-the-road trucker and drove limos. Each of these roles allowed me to witness and connect with people from all walks of life, observing their resilience, challenges, and the many ways they cope with life.

One pivotal moment changed my course. I was driving a professor to the airport when he suggested counseling as a career path. Intrigued, I signed up for a counseling program that very night. Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to this field, growing my skills and understanding through each step. For the past nine years, I’ve facilitated groups and served as a clinical supervisor in Illinois, where I’ve had the privilege of leading a program that teaches alternatives to violence, helping individuals find healthier, non-violent ways to cope and connect.

My approach to therapy is straightforward, trauma-informed, and rooted in the belief that you are the expert on your own life. As a father and husband, I know the importance of balance, resilience, and authenticity—values that guide me as both a person and a therapist. Whether you're working through past traumas, managing current challenges, or building toward a healthier future, I’m here to support your journey.
